Q. Does the Township have a tree cutting ordinance?
A. Not at this time, however residents are reminded that tree removal (unless a tree poses a hazard) is not recommended and can result in increased soil erosion, increased stormwater runoff, loss of habitat and loss of much needed air quality control in our densely populated state. Yes. Click here to learn more.
Q. Is the Environmental Commission looking for volunteers?
A. Yes. The EC is looking for qualified environmentalists to assist with site plan application review, ordinance development, land use planning, grant writing and environmental education efforts. If you are interested in becoming a member, please send a copy of your resume and a cover letter to environcommission@clintontwpnj.com.

A. Per NJDEP stormwater requirement NJAC 7:14, the Township passed a wildlife feeding ordinance in 2006 which prohibits the feeding of unconfined wildlife in any public park or on any other property owned or operated by the Township of Clinton, so as to protect public health, safety and welfare, and to prescribe penalties for failure to comply (see Township of Clinton Code Chapter 198-21).
Q. Where can I bring my recycling?
A. Click here to view the CTEC Recycling Links page.
Q. Does the Township pick up yard waste (i.e., grass clippings, leaves, etc.)?
A. Yes, however, sweeping, raking, blowing or otherwise placing yard waste that is not containerized at the curb or along the street is only allowed during the seven days prior to a scheduled and announced collection and shall not be placed closer than 10 feet from any storm drain inlet. Placement of such yard waste at the curb or along the street at any other time or in any other manner is a violation of this section. If such placement of yard waste occurs, the party responsible for placement of the yard waste must remove the yard waste from the street or said party shall be deemed in violation of this section (see Township of Clinton Code Chapter 75-7 for more information).
